Application Process

Register at the official website on or before 7 May 2010 (Postponed) and send the abstract to on or before 28 May 2010 (Postponed) . Participants can register for the event individually or in a team with the co-authors of the projects or papers. (Max number of team members: 8)
Registration will be confirmed by email after the application form is submitted successfully.

Submission Process

Eligibility
- Participants must be affiliated to a Hong Kong or Macau organization (schools, colleages and companies)
- Participants must be aged 35 or below.
- IET membership is not a prerequisite.

Regulations
-
The reports/papers and presentations must be written and conducted in English.
(not applicable to Secondary School Section)
- The submitted reports/papers must be the original work of the registered authors and have not been published in any other means.
- Only the current postgraduate, undergraduate and tertiary non-degree students of the tertiary institutions, and full-time students of the secondary schools in Hong Kong or Macau are eligible for joining the postgraduate, undergraduate, tertiary non-degree and secondary school sections respectively.
- Anyone who works in engineering related fields and is aged 35 or below in Hong Kong or Macau is eligible for joining the industry section. Participants are required to provide the company name of which they work for and obtain the agreement of their company to submit and publish the papers in case the work is related to their work and company. IET (HK) will not be responsible if their company forbids the publication of the papers at any moment.
- Registered teams are required to submit their abstracts (no more than 250 words) and project summary (for Secondary School Section) or well formatted papers/reports (for other sections) before the respective deadlines to

- The submitted reports/papers must be formatted strictly according to the paper template provided. Any unsuitably formatted reports/papers will not be accepted.
- Violation of either one of the regulations 5, 6 will cause a penalty of 5% on the judging marks.
- The committee of YMEC 2010 and IET(HK) reserve the rights to explain and modify the regulations.

Registered teams are strongly encouraged to submit their project summaries or full reports/papers to for formatting review two weeks before full report/paper deadline so as to avoid the penalty. Please state clearly your registration code, paper title and mark "REVIEW:" in the email title.
